About WACSOF
West African Civil Society Forum
is a regional platform that brings together civil society organizations (CSOs) across West Africa to promote participatory governance, regional integration, peace, and sustainable development.
Established as a bridge between citizens and regional institutions, WACSOF serves as a collective voice for civil society engagement within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) framework and beyond. It provides a space for dialogue, advocacy, coordination, and knowledge-sharing among diverse stakeholders committed to strengthening democracy and accountability in the region.
Our Vision
A peaceful, democratic, and prosperous West Africa where citizens actively participate in shaping policies and governance processes. WACSOF envisions a well-organized vibrant civil society in West Africa which contribute to the attainment to a stable and prosperous West African region, free of violent conflicts and characterized by democracy, human rights, good governance, rule of law, constitutionalism, social justice and economic prosperity.
Our Mission
To strengthen civil society in West Africa by fostering collaboration, amplifying citizen voices, and promoting inclusive policies and regional integration.
WACSOF serves as the receptacle for civil society organizations by serving as the channel of engagement with ECOWAS and other regional and international organizations, empowering them to harness public space at the national, regional and continental levels in order to contribute to an integrated, stable and developed Africa.
